Brian is a communications and marketing professional skilled in developing programs and information to reach physicians, employees, management, customers and the public. He has achieved success working with medical executives, upper management, human resources, IT and marketing staff to create and execute strategies for physician and employee communications. Throughout his career, he has focused on setting up results-oriented communication and marketing programs to help organizations reach their strategic goals.

An award-winning writer and editor, he has a background in internal communications, public relations, marketing, advertising and Web content management. His experience also includes working with outside advertising agencies and communications and human resources consultants, as well as in managing creative staff.

Before founding Crucial Communications, Brian served as Physician Communications Manager for Beaumont Health, where he led communication initiatives to engage more than 3,100 employed and private-practice physicians with the health system. In that role, he developed and executed strategies for communicating with medical staff through a website, email, publications and meetings. With medical leadership, he determined messaging, timing, feedback and analysis; made recommendations for new communication initiatives. He also coordinated physician communications system-wide; managed content for a physician website and identified topics for coverage in physician publications.

In addition to a range of other marketing / communications responsibilities for Beaumont Health, his experience also includes the post of Director, Marketing Communications, for Beaumont Shared Services, Inc. While holding this position, he also was Vice President of Operations for Bronson/Beaumont Management Services, Inc., a healthcare management and consulting venture of Beaumont and Bronson Healthcare, Kalamazoo, Michigan.

Brian also has served as President of the Rochester-Avon Historical Society in Rochester, Michigan, and on several other community nonprofit boards and committees. He is a graduate of the Leadership Oakland Cornerstone program.
